About me

Music has always played a major role in my life. I believe in its tremendous power. It’s emotional - driving - mood changing - influential - and so much more. With time, I came to learn that sound in general is not less important than music. How would the world look like without any music or sound?

I am Elinor. A musician and sound designer. Actually, I am a creative and curious mind who loves to constantly explore, experiment and extent my knowledge.

It all began with a classical piano career for more than 20 years. Later on, I discovered the passion for singing and began my Popular Music studies at Goldsmiths College, University of London (Bachelor of Music). I explored the areas of composition, song-writing and music production.

I love to perform. Whether it’s concerts with my own material and/or covers, performing in coproprate events, weddings or for family and friends - my range as a performing artist is broad. I usually sing and accompany myself on the piano, but also perform with other musicians, depending on the occasion and the audience. My passion is to perform in various languages which include German, English, Spanish, French, Romanian and Hebrew.

I performed in various wedding events, mostly in the ceremonial part where the couple requires more intimate and emotional moments. Often just voice and piano, sometimes only instrumental or acapella. Really depending on the couple and their wishes. I did various performances with original material under my stage name Eli Melinda with appearances on German TV and radio stations. Many of my songs are still aired in radio stations in Germany and abroad. Here is an audio snippet with a few of my songs in German.

Another musical project I adore is the chillout fusion duo called Smooth Seduction with german artist Heiko Franz. Here is an example of a chilled version of the song Pina Colada. Please visit our SoundCloud page for more songs.

Until today I work as a broadcast producer for the renowned German radio station “planet radio”. What a broadcast producer does? Writing and producing jingles, the station’s corporate sound, radio spots and trailers, recording and editing various voice overs (yes, also celebs ;). Bascially creating the acoustic brand. Being part of a small team of crazy creatives, we always come up with content and radio games that delight our listeners. Creativity and customer service skills also come to play when creating campaigns for external customers.

Audio post-production is another field I am active in. A job in which you breathe life into moving images by creating the acoustic landscape, using sound effects. Creativity and imagination are key when creating new sounds that don’t necessarily exist in the human world. This is especially relevant for science fiction or animation movies.

I also completed an international Executive MBA (EuroMBA) in order to extent my knowledge in the business and management world. I found my entrepreneurial self and spirit, and am highly interested in innovative technologies and the startup industry.

Oh, and I love languages. They’re like music to my ears. That’s why I speak about five :) (Fluent in English, German and Romanian; Intermediate in French; Good in Spanish and Hebrew).
